This team continually works together to monitor patient outcomes, safety and satisfaction through quality assurance programs, advanced education and ongoing staff training programs. Among the services we provide are:
- Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
- Esophageal Dilation
- Colonoscopy
- Polypectomy
Your comfort, safety and prompt recovery are the primary concern of our staff.
What to Expect During Your Visit
Please be aware that you will be at our facility for a minimum of 1½-2 hours. If you are having sedation, you must have a driver who remains at the GEC during the procedure. Please make arrangements for this prior to your appointment. Because the medications that we give are sedatives, the person needs to be available to speak with the physician after your procedure and to drive you home.
Your results from any biopsies removed will be available two weeks later by accessing this information via a unique phone number or website that will be provided to you on the day of your procedure. Critical biopsy results will be handled more urgently.

Billing Information
The Greenville Endoscopy Center is a participating provider with Medicare and several managed care insurance plans. We recommend that you call your insurance company to ensure our center is a participating facility with your plan. We follow the rules set forth by these plans. As a courtesy to you, our Insurance Department will file the insurance claim for charges incurred at the GEC.
Responsibility for payment of these services is the obligation of the patient. If specimens are taken for pathological review, you will receive a separate bill from the pathology office for their services. You will also receive a bill from your physician for professional services.
Patient Complaints/Grievances
If you experience any problems, please ask to speak with the Director of Nursing. All efforts will be made to handle your problem expediently.
